Disney loved to mix live action with animation (Mary Poppins, Bedknobs and Broomsticks), but this 1977 effort falls on its face. The turn-of-the-century story concerns an orphaned boy whose only friend is a cartoon monster. Pete, a young orphan, runs away to a Maine fishing town with his best friend--a lovable, sometimes invisible dragon named Elliott! When they are taken in by a kind lighthouse keeper, Nora (Helen Reddy), and her father (Mickey Rooney), Elliott's prank playing lands them in big trouble. Then, when crooked salesmen try to capture Elliott for their own gain, Pete must attempt a daring rescue.

Larry the Cable Guy's Christmas Spectacular

Larry the Cable Guy might seem like an unlikely candidate to host a seasonal variety show but VH1 has taken a chance on the redneck comedian for this amusing 2007 CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR. Larry is joined by an array of special guests as he tries to "Git-R-Done" and the show has been designed as a spoof of the great 1970s variety shows so Tony Orlando who hosted his own TONY ORLANDO AND DAWN RAINBOW HOUR in the '70s makes an appropriate appearance; Flavor Flav and Jamie Kennedy are also featured. Hysterical

During a late night drinking binge with bartender Nicky (Michael Marino), sixty-five year-old postman Sol Solzberg (Charlie Callas) leaks the details of his life-long plan to rob some valuable stamps from the local post office. Sol then promptly drops dead of a heart attack. Suddenly armed with his sure-fire answer to his financial woes, Nicky assembles a "crack" team of hapless crooks, headed by his best friend Paul (Jim Norton), and begins to plan and execute the caper. Whoever said crime doesn't pay had this gang of moronic Jersey boys in mind!
