She s beautiful smart goal-oriented and she just inherited the Cleveland Indians. Unfortunately she wants to move the franchise to Miami and a losing season is her only ticket to Florida. So she signs the wildest gang of screwballs that ever spit tobacco. They re handsome but they re hopeless! Her catcher (Tom Berenger) is a washed-up womanizer who struck out in life. Her ace pitcher (Charlie Sheen) is a punked-out crazy who struck out with the law. And her third baseman (L.A. Law s Corbin Bernsen) is more concerned fielding endorsements than grounders. Throw in a busload of other misfits and you ve got yourself a hilarious line-up that s destined for disaster! Or is it?System Requirements:Run Time: 106 minsFormat: DVD MOVIE Genre: COMEDY Rating: R UPC: 097361207544 Manufacturer No: 120754
A baseball comedy and slob comedy rolled into one, this one actually works as entertainment, if not as a piece of cinematic mastery. James Gammon is the has-been manager hired to lead the last-place Cleveland Indians whose owner wants them to lose so she can sell them. But the team of has-beens and never-wases that he assembles (including Tom Berenger, Charlie Sheen, Corbin Bernsen, and Wesley Snipes) develops a sense of pride and turns the team around. There's plenty of rowdy humor about sex, race, and whatever else they can make fun of. Look for Rene Russo (in her first film role) as Berenger's romantic interest; Snipes also had his first showy role as Willie Mays Hayes, the team's base-stealing ace. --Marshall Fine

Homeward Bound II - Lost in San Francisco
by David R. Ellis
from Walt Disney Video
This movie follows the unwritten law of sequels: bring back the same characters and put them in similar jeopardy with slightly tweaked circumstances. Instead of a cross-country journey, this time the pet trio must get from the San Francisco airport across the Golden Gate Bridge to their suburban home. Michael J. Fox and Sally Field return as the voices of Chance the bulldog and Sassy the cat, with Ralph Waite replacing the late Don Ameche as the elderly golden retriever. Their journey features dogfights, house fires, an epic battle with a pair of petnappers, and a love affair for Chance with a stray from the other side of the bridge (Carla Gugino). Sinbad voices another dog who guides them through the mean streets of the city by the bay, and Robert Hays stars as the father, but, frankly, that hardly matters. What does is the animals' banter, and they're funny. (Ages 3 and up) --Kimberly Heinrichs
Your favorite trio of talking animals is back in this action-packed Disney adventure that'll have the whole family bursting with excitement and laughter! Michael J. Fox, Sally Field, and Ralph Waite supply the voices of Chance, the American bulldog; Sassy, the Himalayan cat; and Shadow, the golden retriever -- and Sinbad speaks for their newfound canine friend, Riley -- in this critically acclaimed sequel to Disney's now-classic HOMEWARD BOUND: THE INCREDIBLE JOURNEY. When the pets accidentally get separated from their vacationing owners, Chance, Shadow, and Sassy navigate the mean streets of San Francisco, trying to find their home across the Golden Gate Bridge. But the road is blocked by a series of hazards, both man and beast. It's another incredible journey for three very brave, very lovable pets, in a thrilling, funny adventure that's 'bound to please' (New York Post) the entire family!
Major League 2/Major League: Back to the Minors
by David S. Ward
from Warner Home Video
Baseball is a funny game - even more so when the team of flameouts and flamethrowers that went from worst to first returns in Major League II for another swing at America's pastime. Reckless reliever Wild Thing (Charlie Sheen) gimpy catcher Jake (Tom Berenger) and slugger Pedro (Dennis Haysbert) cope with fame and its perks as they set out to prove their previous season wasn't a fluke. They don't throw screwballs in Major League: Back to the Minors. They put them in uniform. A veteran pitcher-turned-manager (Scott Bakula) aims to turn his team from a laughing stock into the equivalent of blue-chip stocks in this romp that includes returning stars Haysbert and Corbin Bernsen. Also appearing in both films is Bob Uecker who provides cockeyed commentary as fan's fan and play-by-play man Harry Doyle. Shelley Duvall's Tall Tales & Legends - Casey at the Bat
by David Steinberg
from KOCH VISION
Howard Cosell narrates this Shelley Duvall-produced version of the legendary Mudville Hogs player who saved baseball in 1888. Part of her American Tall Tales and Legends series, it features Elliott Gould as the newsboy-capped benchsitter who wants nothing more than a chance to play. Finally granted his wish, he turns out to be an ace hitter, elevating the struggling sport's profile and foiling the plans of an evil mud factory magnate to buy the stadium on the cheap and turn it into a sludge dump. Aided by his faithful fiancée (Carol Kane) and a magical mentor (Bill Macy), Gould fights the good fight until the mogul tempts him with a less-than-virtuous beauty. This 50-minute production is loaded with broad humor (pig noses make frequent appearances), amusing self-send-ups by commentators Cosell and Bob Uecker as his "color man," and a lot of fun references to the beginnings of baseball traditions. (Ages 4 and older) --Kimberly Heinrichs
It's the summer of 1888, and Casey Frank (Elliott Gould) is a down-on-his-luck baseball player on the league's losingest team, the Mudville Hogs. Hard work, determination and a little bit of magic turn Casey into the game's most popular slugger. But even after striking out, the mighty Casey remains a hero for his sportsmanship and good-natured play. Carol Kane, Bob Uecker and Howard Cosell co-star in this spirited salute to both an American legend and "America's pastime."
