A Taste of Chanukah is a joyous celebration of Chanukah that the whole family can enjoy. Hosted by Theodore Bikel and led by Artistic Director Hankus Netsky, the program serves up a festive hour-long concert. The program features over 150 musicians from the different ensembles recorded live at the New England Conservatory's Jordan Hall in Boston. Listeners will delight in humorist Chasia Segal, who demonstrates how to cook perfect potato latkes.

Debbie Friedman - Hanukkah Tales & Tunes / Miracles & Wonders

Celebrate Hanukkah with song, story, and puppetry. This 159-minute DVD features a 30-minute video program and an audio-only program by Debbie Friedman. In the video portion, "Hanukkah Tales & Tunes," K.J. the puppet wants to learn about Hanukkah. K.J.'s human friends introduce him to the stories of Antiocus Epiphanes, the miracle of the holy oil, and the dreidel through songs like "Miracles Aren't Just Magic," an enactment of "Galya and the Goblin," and heavily choreographed dances. Dan Crow and Fred Sokolow perform "The Dreidel Song" and Caren Glasser sings a "Hanukkah Medley." Debbie Friedman's "Miracles and Wonders: A Hanukkah Musical" and "A Purim Musical" (previously released on CD) comprise the audio portion of the DVD. Friedman's pure voice is pleasing and her music and lyrics bring Hanukkah traditions to life. The "Purim Musical" consists of songs written from the points of view of five major Purim figures. Agent Emes and the Happy Chanukah

The fifth, longest, and most exciting in the Agent Emes series. Chanukah in Shpittsburgh is in jeopardy when the evil Dr. Lo-Tov bathes the city in a mood-altering depression ray. Help arrives in the person of world-famous Jewish singer, Rocky Rabinowitz (played by popular comedian, MODI), who plans a special concert to cheer up the city. Dr. Lo-Tov intervenes once more, and kidnaps Rocky, threatening to silence the singer for good. That's when Agent Emes bursts on the scene, forcing a dramatic showdown that must be seen to be believed.
