Motley Crue: Carnival of Sins [Blu-ray]

Infamous for visually wild and intensely live stage shows, original Crue members Vince Neil, Nikki Sixx, Mick Mars and Tommy Lee set a new standard with a "circus gone bad" concept spectacular all taking place under a huge circus tent stage set. The pyrotechnics are excessive and the fire-breathing midgets, seductive aerialists and demonic clowns keep the crowd roaring for more.
Shot using 20 HD cameras and never released with high definition visuals or audio before.

Mötley Crüe - Greatest Video Hits
from Hip-O Records
Once upon a time, you couldn't turn on MTV without seeing Motley Crue videos in heavy rotation. For those still-loyal fans, this compilation brings back the good old days. From the band's 1982 debut, Too Fast for Love, to 2000's New Tattoo, these 21 videos hit on every phase of the Crue's career: they began as a Kiss wannabe, became huge arena-rockers, then stumbled through new singers and drummers before returning to the original lineup. No real fan will go wrong with this hit list, including much time-capsule material: "Girls Girls Girls," "Dr. Feelgood," and "Home Sweet Home" contain big hair, makeup, tight pants--and that's just the band! Bonuses include six "alternate" videos, including the "X-rated" version of "Girls," showing barely more than Janet Jackson at the Super Bowl; 50 minutes of bassist Nikki Sixx and drummer Tommy Lee discussing making the clips; and Easter eggs with more hidden videos. The sound, nominally mixed in 5.1 Dolby Surround, is actually quite tame for such hard-hitting music. --Kevin Filipski
Motley Crue - Lewd, Crued & Tattooed
from Hip-O Records
Caught live in Salt Lake City on their 2000 tour supporting the New Tattoo album, Motley Crüe's first concert video--with the group in peak form--is a must for Crüe fanatics. Even without trouble-plagued drummer Tommy Lee (in his place, Hole's Samantha Maloney powerfully beats the skins), the Crüe sizzles through a 95-minute set of headbanging anthems like "Kickstart My Heart," "Dr. Feelgood," and "Shout at the Devil." Even a raucous cover version of "White Punk on Dope" fits snugly into the Crüe's sound, with Vince Neil's vocals, Mick Mars's guitar, and Nikki Sixx's bass playing all in fine fettle. A plethora of DVD features include anamorphic widescreen video, 5.1 Dolby Surround audio, behind-the-scenes footage, the animated video for the "Hell on High Heels" single, and several Web links. --Kevin Filipski
Motley Crue: Feeling Good Interviews
from Video Music, Inc.
This DVD features tons of previously unseen footage showing these bad boys of rock behaving even worse that you could imagine! Motley Crue is considered one of the most successful heavy metal bands of all time, having sold over 45 million albums worldwide and 25 million records in the US alone. In addition to music, they also set the scale for decadent rock and roll behavior. Since the release of The Dirt, the band has been known as one of the most decadent and self-destructive groups in rock music history. This DVD reveals many of those wild moments and much more.

Motley Crue: VH1 Behind the Music
by Christian Santiago
from Beyond Records
Who better than L.A.'s tattooed bad boys Motley Crue to represent the sordid but compelling brew of sex, drugs, and debauchery that personifies VH-1's Behind the Music? In a tale told (in 2000) through interviews, film clips, and, of course, really loud music, the four Cruemen (Vince Neil, Tommy Lee, Nikki Sixx, and Mick Mars, who nowadays looks like a denizen of the planet he's named after) travel the familiar road from runaway success to a drug-and-alcohol-fueled crash and burn, only to come back sober and strong, ready to tell the world just how f***ed up (the show's censored, too) it all was. Only this time it's even juicier, what with Neil's vehicular manslaughter conviction and Lee's many merry misadventures with Pamela Anderson. Throw in a music video (for "Enslaved") and some other minor extras, and you've got a guilty pleasure that virtually parodies itself. --Sam Graham
